The day never goes to plan

A boiler call comes in at 7:40. The ten o'clock runs long. A building manager moves the afternoon job to the other side of town. Your dispatcher fixes the board in thirty seconds, then spends the next twenty minutes on the phone making sure every technician knows.

Rivetday takes the second part off her plate. Change the board, and the technician it affects gets a text with the new details. She goes back to the phones that are ringing for a reason.

How it works

Plan the work

Assign service calls by technician, time and region.

Handle the changes

Move a job and Rivetday queues a text for the technician it affects.

Send the details

Site, contact and task notes, one job-card link away.

Built around the dispatcher's day

Dispatch board

Technicians down the side, the day across the top, every service call a block you can drag. Reassign, reschedule or cancel in one motion. Unassigned calls wait in their own column until someone has room. Filter by region or by client when the day gets big.

Scheduling

Each technician has a shift pattern and a home region, so the board shows who is actually available. Plan the week ahead, park planned maintenance until the day it is due, and move work between people without losing track of it.

Technician texting

Assigned, changed, cancelled, emergency. Each is a plain text message from Rivetday with the site, the time and what to expect. Every text is logged on the job with its status and the time it went out.

The job card

The link in every text opens a page on the technician's phone: address, site contact, scheduled time and the dispatcher's notes. Nothing to install and nothing to remember.

Technician records and imports

Contact details, region, shift pattern and assignment history for every technician. Bring your roster and your sites in from the spreadsheets you already have. We help.

Rivetday runs dispatch for teams from a few technicians to hundreds, across several states.

For the contractors who keep commercial buildings running

HVAC, electrical and plumbing contractors that maintain office buildings, hospitals, schools and warehouses. Teams of five technicians and teams of five hundred. Dispatch desks that run nine to five and dispatch centers that never close.

Owners and dispatch managers

See the whole day at once. Know what is unassigned before it becomes a problem. Stop being the person everyone calls to find out what changed.

Dispatchers

One board instead of a whiteboard, a spreadsheet and a group text. Make the change once. The text goes out.

Technicians

A text with the job, and another text the moment anything changes. The details are one tap away. Nothing to install.

Rivetday is built for commercial service work. If most of your calls are homeowners, we are probably not the right fit, and we will tell you so.

Questions we get asked

Do technicians need an app?

No. Technicians get ordinary text messages. The link in each text opens the job card in the phone's browser.

What kind of phone do technicians need?

Anything that receives text messages and has a browser.

Can technicians reply to a text?

No. Rivetday texts are one-way. Technicians call the dispatcher the way they do today.

What happens if a text cannot be sent?

Rivetday retries automatically. If it still cannot send, the job is flagged on the board so the dispatcher can call the technician.

How do we get our technicians and sites into Rivetday?

From a spreadsheet. Send us your roster and your site list and we load them for you.

Do you work with residential contractors?

Rivetday is built for commercial service work: office buildings, hospitals, schools, warehouses. If most of your calls are homeowners, we are probably not the right fit.

Can we see it with our own schedule?

Yes. Book a demo and we will walk through it using your technicians and your sites, then set you up with a trial for your dispatchers.

A small team that has sat at the dispatch desk

Rivetday was started by someone who ran operations at a mechanical contractor and someone who built scheduling systems for a logistics company. We are a small team, mostly engineers, and we work closely with every contractor we sign. If you email us, a person answers.
